And the winner is..Tim Russert

I never thought i'd said this but after watching the debate lastnight , i declared Tim Russert the winner and here's why.

The media had been calling Hillary Clinton the shoe-in democratic nominee for a while now and you could tell no media personnels wants to challenge her on anything since they are too afraid she may be indeed "inevitable" , so you basically have a bunch of people playing nice and refusing to put her on the spot on anything...

Yesterday , the politico reported how the Clintons killed a bad story about them by simply threatening the GQ magazine that they wont appear in their cover if the story ran on their mag...Just a nugget for you to think about.

Hillary is allowed to talk and not say anything...She refuses to take any tough position on anything because , my guess is they think she's already won the nomination , therefore , she's moving to the center and refusing to even answer simple question questions.

Back on Tim Russert...He could've easily allowed Hillary to duck questions after questions and keep babbling about nothing , but he took it upon himself to really force her to answer serious questions...

Eventhough Hillary stubbornly stood her ground by refusing to take position on the issues and even got tasty at Russert ,i admire the fact that he kept on pressing her and not letting her get away by simply playing it safe since she's the frontrunner so no need to take any stance on positions.

On social security , she clearly didn't want to take a stance on this issue while Obama and Edwards courageously took position that may offend some seniors...Hillary simply wants to have it both way and not offend anyone and the way you do that is by refusing to make your real position known to the public and ducking the question.

Hillary also supported torture , but now , she's flip-flopped on this issue just to protect her left-flank...

She's clearly triangulating , so im glad Tim Russert really went after her...Obama and Edwards probably cant get away with aggressively questioning Hillary since they could be labeled as aggressors , so it was great that Timmy roughed her up a bit.

Anyway , you can read about Hillary flip flop on torture here:

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Have you noticed that Obama's T.V. network are about the turn on him and ditch him for Edwards , the folks are MSNBC are almost foaming at the mouth now that the see the whole thing slipping away from their guy . So lets jump ship to Edwards maybe he can stop her .

Chris Mattews has no journalistic integrity . He was foaming at the mouth all day , too bad for him he might have to jump off a bridge when its all said and done.

But pity Obama.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Is this in the talking points now? I'd seen Hillary people sporadically try to provoke fights between Edwards and Obama supporters, but now I'm seeing it all over the place.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Know its just an observation .

Chris Mattews has been attacking Obama for not going after Hillary Clinton.

I am sure you have noticed it too , on that channel they had high hopes that Obama would defeat Hillary and he is not laying a glove on her so it seems they are moving over to Edwards .

Didn't you see how Mattews was foaming at the mouth about Hillary all day yesterday , he couldn't controll himself . He just made a fool of himself all day long . At some point you have to realize you are being ridiculous.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Oh, please right.

It is known that Obama was sick.

Next.

Hillary Clinton became the War Candidate last night, no doubt about it.  And this not answering questions, is what is going to sink her.  The primary reason people are starting to pay attention to this is because we already have a president who has lied, no transparency and don't answer questions.  You mean to tell me that we want that again?  No wonder Bush has practically endorsed Clinton.

January is going to be an interesting month.  There is more anti sentiment in the democratic party against her than many know.

And John Edwards won that debate, hands down last night.  HE is right.  We need a president that will END the war, not blur the lines as Clinton and know specifically where the Dem Nom stands when it comes to Iraq.

She is not going to win Iowa.  Not after that Iran vote, yesterday.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

If Morning Joe's any indication, MSNBC's brief flirt with Hillary objectivity is over.  According to Scarborough and (ick) Geist, Hillary didn't take a single shot (even from their own boy, Russert), and to hear them tell it Edwards wasn't even there.  The story seems to be "Obama didn't show up and Hillary cured polio."

Oh, and they spoke of Chuck Todd having been on, and apparently he shared their opinion.  I guess his notes from last night went down the memory hole.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

MSNBC's brief flirt with Hillary objectivity is over

- You call that objectivity ?

Chris Mattews and Tucker Carlson can contain their dislike of Hillary Clinton . Imagine Tucker Carlson annoucing on T.V. that most people on the t.v network are routing for Obama to beat Hillary . They just threw caution to the wind an announced it on T.V.

Is Scaborough praising her performance ? I'll be shocked if he is .

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

The bias Tucker has against Hillary pales in comparison to his notorious personal hatred for Edwards, whose campaign he's declared over multiple times, and whose every scandal, no matter how tenuous, he's run into the ground.  Anyway, nobody watches Tucker besides you (apparently) and me.  He doesn't count.

And while I've been hearing a lot about Chris Matthews's supposed anti-Hillary bias from Hillary supporters lately, I haven't seen it, though I watch Hardball nearly every day, and have watched any debate analysis he's offered (in which I've only seen him offer praise for Hillary until last night).

(I should add that I didn't see Hardball yesterday, where Matthews evidently revealed his alleged rabid Hillary hate.)

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Matthews has hated the Clintons verbally since time immemorial (or at least as long as Hardball has been broadcast).  It supposedly has to do with his having been turned down for a job (speechwriting, press relations, etc.) in the Clinton administration.

And, yes, Matthews is extremely self-absorbed.

Also quite a bit chauvinistic. (I think he was brought up in a household without sisters, and it shows.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little put out about Olbermann's popularity in the last year or two.  He's not as cordial with Olberman when they share a platform as with other pundits.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (2.00 / 1)

Pardon my French, folks, but who gives a shit what Tucker thinks?  He's a lying, gay-bashing nut job. He has no journalistic integrity at all. The fact that he hates Clinton and Edwards makes me like them both all the more.

That's why Obama won the on-line poll on msnbc,so somebody must like him.

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Why do people trump "going after the other candidate" as the winning strategy? Standing up for your own principles and values no longer matters?

I agree with you about the debate. Russert Rocked!

Re: And the winner is..Tim Russert (none / 0)

Hilly game plan is to basicly run out the time and not answer any questions....Let's see if the media will allow her to get away with that...Obama and Edwards mhas got to get her to answer those question but in a pollite manner.

They have to try to get her to answer the social security question...
