Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash

Well , i guess the Clintons are getting tired of handing over cash and they are probably starting to get worried that if controversial donors/bundlers keeps popping up inside their ranks , their 3rd quarter fundraiser total may not look so hot considering they are in a tough money race.

A few days ago , CBS News  reported about another troubled high dollar donor who contributed to Hillary's campaign , but this time around , it looks like her campaign intent on keeping dirty money and are tired of the media calling them demanding answers.

Joe Biden is donating to charity a contribution from a Houston oilman on trial for charges related to paying kickbacks to Saddam Hussein, and John McCain says he'll follow if Oscar Wyatt is convicted. But Hillary Rodham Clinton would make no such pledge

That's right , her campaign are sick and tired of giving their dirty money away.

Here's a little info about the oilman who donated to Hillary.

Wyatt, an 83-year-old World War II vet, was indicted in 2005 on fraud and conspiracy charges related to illegal payments for oil contracts from the Saddam-led Iraqi government under the United Nations' oil-for-food program.

That's right folks , Hillary wont hand over money from a man that was involved in Saddam's "oil for food" program.

Even Wyatt's spokesman wants the Clintons to return their money or donate them to DeBakey Medical Foundation in Houston.

In an unusual move, a Wyatt spokesman, responding to a Politico story, e-mailed reporters urging "any politicians who want to return those funds received from [Wyatt]" to instead donate them to DeBakey Medical Foundation in Houston.

The Biden campaign is doing the right thing but Hillary just refuses to do so.

Mark Paustenbach, a spokesman for Biden's presidential campaign, did not know to which charity his boss' Senate campaign committee would donate the $1,000 it accepted from Wyatt in 1995.

"It was an isolated contribution," he said. "We have no idea why it was made, but we're giving it away."

Here's the reason why the Clintons refuses to return anymore dirty cash.

Clinton last month donated $23,000 to charity - including contributions to her Senate campaign and political action committee - from Norman Hsu, a one-time fugitive convicted on grand theft charges years ago. Additionally, Clinton returned to donors about $850,000 in contributions Hsu raised from others for her current and past campaigns through a process known as bundling.

I guess they think they've already given away too much but if they think this would stand , they most be crazy...The Clinton better return every single dirty dollar or they should be prepare to feel the wrath.

Please , email or call Hillary Clinton senate office and begg her to return dirty money..She's bringing down the entire democratic party along with her...

Return the dirty money Hillary!

I will not agree with you that Hillary is "bringing down the entire democratic party" but I do agree with you that she should return the money without delay. This dude is dirty and none of us should be associated with him.

Re: Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash (none / 0)

I would disagree.  Jefferson, one congressman.  Everytime someone asks a Republican, "Why do you think the Republicans fell to the culture of corruption"

Replies, "Well, there was that Democratic congressman who had 100,000$ in his freezer, it isn't just Republicans."

It's an out for them, a chance to hit the Democratic party, every time they are supposed to be in defensive mode.

National Enquirer much? (2.00 / 1)

ACtually, the CBS story does not say that Clinton is keeping the money. It says that CBS reporters did not know whether she was or not:

The nearly $5,000 Clinton accepted from the Wyatts dates from her 2000 and 2006 Senate campaigns. But her spokesman did not respond to questions about whether her Senate campaign would return the contributions.

Re: National Enquirer much? (none / 0)

It's the fact that after hearing her money is from a guy who will be convicted for being part of Saddam's "oil for food" program, she will not pledge to give the money to a charity.  That means, if the media lets it go, so can Clinton.  She's putting off any committments really.

Article says it's less than $5K. Somehow, I doubt she's desperately hanging on to it for the reasons you imply.

Also mentioned is that Ted Kennedy hasn't responded yet on an old donation.

Another day, another hit piece. Some good polling numbers must be on the way

Hillary: We will finally have a president who doesn't mind pulling over and asking for directions. Am I right, ladies?

This isn't a hit peice, unless you call facts a hit peice.

Clinton isn't making any pledges to donate dirty money to charity, unlike the other candidates.  Even John McCain is willing to if he's convicted, and John McCain's campaign is broke.

Re: Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash (none / 0)

I am NOT SURPRISED that the Clintons are keeping the "dirty" cash.

By now, you would think that they learned some lessons from the past! Nope.

How about the past (1990's) investigations? illegal fundraising activities? scandals? You see, it is gradually coming back.

My friends, VOTE FOR OBAMA or EDWARDS before it is too late!

senate run (none / 0)

Somee Clinton supporters says that he donated to her senate campaign and not her presidential bid but let me remind you that Hillary transfered $10M from his senate account to her presidential bank...Therefore , this money has to be counted as money inside her current bank.

Please , call her office in NY and tell her to give away this tainted money...I'm sick and tired of the Clinton raising money from corrupted individuals..She's killing our party.

Re: Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash (none / 0)

Maybe she has just not gotten around to addressing it- she's busy, you know, she doesn't have the free time Obama has by skipping senate votes and debates.  I don't think she's losing sleep worried about how she will replace the $5,000 she has to give up.

Re: Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash (none / 0)

Obviously rallies have nothing to do with running for president.  A point well made.

Re: Clinton Keeping Controversial Donor's Cash (none / 0)

She's not going to do it unless it gets dire.  Remember, this is the same candidate who is going to be on FNS tomorrow.  She sells out progressives and the American people, but the media appreciate what she does to bring them stories.

Thank you John Edwards and Barack Obama for saying NO to PAC monies and returning donations that are dirty.
